LOCATION
The Keep is a luxurious retreat designed for couples, situated in the heart of a 250 acre private property and surrounded by thousands of acres of forest reserve. Travelling to The Keep involves a journey which will be part of your adventure, though it is only 30km from St Helens, it is a world away from town life.
The Keep is a striking three storey building sitting proud on a 650m plateau with uninterrupted views in every direction, including the north east coast and Bass Strait Islands.
Our guests enjoy exclusive use of this entire landscape, you do not need to share the space with anyone (apart from the abundant wildlife, including our nesting eagle family).
THE BEDROOM LEVEL
As you climb to the first floor you will discover a stunning bedroom with dark walls, botanical print wallpaper, a king size bed with luxurious French linen bedding and a gorgeous hide and leather sofa.
Discover long lost classic novels, guilty pleasure reads and books from every genre in the small library room. There is a leather wing back chair overlooking the boulders and forest below, a perfect nook to read or doze or gaze.
The generous and beautiful bathroom offers with a large walk-in shower and an inviting contoured bathtub built for two.
THE LIVING LEVEL
Climbing another set of stairs will bring you to the top floor where you will be greeted by a wall of windows, framing the breath-taking views.
There is a full chef’s kitchen including a wonderful Falcon dual fuel cooker and many other cooking amenities. A comprehensive array of coffee-making apparatus can also be found here with detailed instructions on how to prepare a great brew.
The comfy lounge is designed for you to spread out and relax in front of the cosy gas fireplace. There is no TV here but you can wile away your time browsing the impressive vinyl collection or explore the cupboard with board games and puzzles.
THE OUTDOORS
A stay at The Keep includes exclusive access to the entire property.
You will find lots of areas to explore including an ancient Myrtle forest, a magical fern walk and a secluded creek with a stunning little waterfall.
At the end of the day, why not fill the outdoor bath, light some candles, open a bottle of your favourite wine or whisky and relax in the warm tub to watch the sun set or marvel at the spectacular night sky.
Inclusions
A stay at The Keep is an escape from the stresses or demands of work and life. You do not need to bring anything with you except the one person you want to share this experience with. We have created a place where you can fully immerse yourself in calm, comfortable luxury while surrounded by the stunning Tasmanian wilderness.
On arrival you will discover a gourmet welcome platter and a bottle of local wine and there will be pre-organised dinner in the fridge, ready to be re-heated. In the morning you will find breakfast supplies including home-made granola and par-baked croissants.
The cupboards are stocked with many snacks and standard pantry items.
An onsite cellar provides a wonderful selection of local wines, ciders, beers, spirits and imported Champagnes (available to purchase with a simple Square terminal)
Rates & Booking
The Keep is available for a maximum of two people and we accept bookings of 2 nights or more. On rare occasions when there is a single night available we will let those on our subscription list aware of the opportunity for a one night stay. Our current rate is $1500 per night for exclusive use of the property. A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking with the balance due 2 weeks prior to arrival. See our FAQ PAGE for information on our Cancellation Policy if required.
